Hand-embroidered belt - turquoise
A really beautiful, detailed belt with little clusters of foweres on a turquoise background. Our belts are made by a project in Peru which provides training and work opportunities to disadvantaged women. The weavers and embroiderers of these belts are mainly women from a remote rural town in Peru who have either absent or alcoholic husbands. The income earnt from their work gives them an independent means of support for their families.
